Dfcu bank has temporarily closed one of its city branches following a foiled robbery attempt.
A group of armed robbers last evening reportedly broke into and attempted in vein to rob Dfcu Bank’s Bwaise branch.
The bank confirmed in a statement the attack, in which some of the employees were reportedly injured.
“Several armed men ambushed our staff as they were closing up to leave the branch after work,” the bank revealed in a statement.
“Unfortunately, during the attack, some of our employees were physically assaulted.”
The unnamed employees, the statement says “are currently receiving medical attention and counselling.”
“We are doing everything to ensure they get back to their feet as quickly as possible.”
The robbery has since been reported to police, and the banks says it is providing support with the investigations.
The bank says in addition to this, they are reviewing the security measures in place to enhance the safety and security of our people.
