Uganda Premier League leaders, KCCA FC, will need to avoid a loss on Tuesday in their trip to Ndejje University to be crowned 2018-19 champions.
The Kasasiro boys have accumulated 59 points, nine ahead of second-placed Vipers SC and could just wrap up the title hunt with a win or draw.
In a bid to avoid complacency, the team head coach Mike Mutebi has tickled his boys to win all the three remaining games -including Tuesday’s – in order to finish with more points than Vipers and themselves hit to win the previous two titles.
“We want to win each and every of our remaining games,” Mutebi emphasized. “Our aim is to finish strongly so that we can pick from there next season. We must show that we truly deserved to win the title.” KCCA may also be crowned champions if Vipers fail to beat Police at Lugogo irrespective of their result in Bombo.
A win or draw for KCCA will leave the university side in a precarious situation as regards their relegation battle.
The students have three games to save themselves from going down. Currently on 14th with only 25 points, they need to pick maximum points from each game and pray that SC Villa faulters further.
Otherwise, they will join their fellow debutantes Nyamityobora and Paidha Black Angels in the secknd division next season.
In the other matches, SC Villa will take their title fight to Maroons in Luzira; already relegated Nyamityobora host Tooro United; and Police host Vipers.
