Kitatta’s Main Witness Contradicts Himself in Court

Bodaboda 2010 boss Abudalah Kitatta yesterday had his main witness Joel Kibirige, contradict himself before the Makindye based Court Martial.

Kitatta had promised court that Mr Kibirige, a former Bodaboda 2010 member himself would explain more about the operations of the group, but he ended up making a number of contradictions both in his testimony and that of Kitatta

During cross examination, Kibirige informed court that Kitatta was not the Patron of Boda Boda 2010 as he had earlier testified in his defence on oath, but the Patron of all Bodabodas in the country.

Kitatta had earlier informed court that Kibirige was the chairman for BodaBoda 2010 in Rubaga Division.

Kibirige in his testimony however, informed court that he was not holding the said position but was the chairman of all BodaBodas in Rubaga.

At Boda Boda 2010, he said was the Director.

“If anybody comes in court and says that I am the chairman for Boda Boda 2010 Rubaga Division, he is telling lies,” Kibirige stressed.

On the issue of items which were recovered from Boda Boda 2010 offices in Wakaliga, Kibirige said he was unaware of any 2010 office in that place since theirs is in Kivumbi zone, Nateete Rubaga division with the main office in Kawempe division.

Kibirige spent most of the time mentioning the National Resistance Movement (NRM) which he pointed out as his party that they served whole heatedly to ensure that it stays in power.

He revealed that by the time of his arrest he was preventing several Boda Boda riders from interfering with the work of security operatives who had arrested Kitatta’s brother Kiwalabye Huzairu on charges of murder.
