MultiChoice Uganda has fired its Head of Marketing, Phoebe Nakabazzi, Chimp Corps report.
The sacking, announced on Tuesday, followed last year’s reports that she was involved in a marital affair with her boss, Charles Hamya.
Hamya’s wife, Crusid Matovu, alleged in an email to MultiChoice staff that her husband and Nakabazzi “started having an affair shortly after Nakabazzi joined the company” in 2015.
Crusid further said, “After multiple attempts to resolve this matter privately, this affair has continued against our marital vows.”
She said Nakabazzi had “continued to disrespect my marriage despite many attempts to cease her mistress-like behaviors with Charles,” adding, “Her (Nakabazzi) most recent act of devaluing my marriage was on a recent trip she took to Dubai with Charles two weeks ago.”
The saga shook the pay-tv company with shareholders in South Africa pressuring Hamya to quit.
Hamya had reportedly dragged his feet until late last year when he announced his plans to leave his position of Managing Director.
