Police Arrests 424 Suspected Criminals In a Sting Operation

Kampala Metropolitan Police under the command of CP Moses Kafeero has today carried out a sting operation and arrested over four hundred suspected criminals.

The major swop according to police is aimed at getting rid of suspected criminals such as pick pockets, bag snatchers among others.

The operation that lasted four hours was carried out in the areas of Katwe, Nsambya, Kisenyi, Old Kampala, Namirembe road, Wandegeya, Kabalagala, Jinja Road, city centre, Nakivubo channel and the surrounding areas.

Police said that among the suspects were those that had court bails and others are on police bond.

“We shall immediately take them to the various courts or police stations that need them,” said Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan police spokesman

Luke added that police is going to screen them before processing their case files adding that they are likely to appear in court tomorrow.

Kampala Metropolitan Commander asserted that the law enforcement body is determined to wipe out criminal elements in the city centre and its surroundings.
